Minis in Memory of Christina Galbreath

These minis meant the absolute world to me as they carry two important meanings. For one, these minis were hosted at my in-law’s new property which they are transforming into a flower farm and photography venue. I am so excited for them and their new adventure at Almosta Farm and Depot. It is truly inspiring to see them chase their dreams and to make this property their home. Their land is beautiful and I very much look forward to many memories being made there.

The second meaning for these mini sessions is that these minis were in honor of my childhood best-friend Christina Galbreath. I don’t even think best-friend truly captures the magnitude of our friendship…she was my soul sister. For a long period in my life if you saw one of us, you saw the other. She impacted my life in more ways than I can ever describe but what I can say in sum, she made me a better human and a heck of a loyal friend.

Christina told you what she thought, she beat to her own drum, and she loved fiercely. She was someone I looked up to, someone I could come to without judgement, she was steadfast. Those qualities never wavered.

When I told her I wanted to take pictures more, maybe make a little money on the side, she told me to go for it. In fact, I can’t begin to count the number of photo shoots we had in my parent’s front yard with herself, Lauren, and Abby. I always look back on my time in high school and have coined those as “the golden years”. They’re my favorite.

So when September came for Childhood Cancer Awareness month, it was a no brainer to do something in Memory of Christina. At the age of 23 Christina was diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer, Neuroblastoma. Since Neuroblastoma is a childhood cancer, Christina received treatment at CHOA where she not only fought hard but she advocated for all kids experiencing cancer. The last thing Christina and I talked about was her fundraising for childhood cancer. She had sent me some ideas and I had gone on Canva to make her vision come to life. We went back and forth perfecting the campaign and that September Christina launched it from the hospital, all while she was fighting and being treated herself.

Her resiliency, her steadfastness, her strength, her advocacy, it was an easy decision to pick up where she left off. These minis were for her and 100% of funds made were donated to Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center.

Thank you to my incredible clients for coming to the farm in her memory.
